Kirkwood Interactive Camps for Kids (KICK) are exciting and educational summer camps for youth ages 8-15. KICK camps are designed around career exploration, and provide fun, hands-on activities that promise to develop and build key skills for future success. Camp offerings have been expanded this year in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) in an effort to meet future workforce demands. KICK has been educating children in Iowa’s Creative Corridor since 2007. This summer there are more than 200 camps to choose from with nearly 100 STEM programs in Cedar Rapids and Coralville. The camps allow for hands-on learning in Kirkwood classrooms and labs equipped with advanced technologies like software, simulators, robotics, welders and machines. This fosters learning, collaboration, problem solving and exploration. KICK camps run June through August and space is limited. Enrollments are accepted up to one week prior to starting. For a complete camp listing or to register, call 398-1022 or visit www.kirkwood.edu/kick.
