Timberline Manufacturing plans to break ground on a new manufacturing facility that will double the company’s space and capacity. The ground breaking will take place on Wednesday, May 30th at 10 am just west of the company’s current headquarters. Individuals attending the groundbreaking can access the site through the Iowa Auto Brokers driveway at 937 Blairsferry Road. Signage will be provided directing attendees back to the site. Founded in 1993, Timberline Manufacturing is an employee-owned company that provides electrical contract manufacturing specializing in wire harness assembly, control panels and circuit board assembly. The Company has customers spanning many industries including aerospace, mining, road construction equipment, agriculture, and packaging. In March, the company was awarded tax-based financial assistance from the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s High-Quality Jobs Program as well as a local match from the City of Marion. “As we continue to grow, add value and adapt to our customer and employee needs, this new facility will allow us the room we need to be most efficient at what we do best,” says Timberline President Greg Ervin. Primus Companies is the general contractor for the 85,000 square foot facility. The project will allow Timberline to expand its employee base from 165 full time positions to at least 221 staff members over the next three years. Total capital investment is expected to be $12.8 million. Marion Economic Development Corporation will join company representatives, elected officials, and Chamber Ambassadors to celebrate the groundbreaking.
