Event Description: Come celebrate the renovation of Peterson Hall. Faculty and students will be available for tours before and after the rededication ceremony in Cherry Auditorium at 4 p.m. A reception will begin at 3 p.m. in the lobby. Attendees will be able to explore the $12 million renovated space which houses biology, chemistry and physics, as well as Coe's modern research-grade equipment. Major funding for this project was provided through a $4.7 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), earned through a highly competitive peer-review process. Additional funding was provided by other grants and generous gifts from alumni, faculty and staff, and friends of the college. Delbert E. Day, Curators' Professor Emeritus of Materials Science and Engineering and Senior Investigator of the Graduate Center for Materials Research at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly the University of Missouri-Rolla), will be the featured speaker at the rededication ceremony. He is the former Chairman and President of MO-SCI Corp, a company he co-founded to manufacture special purpose glasses for the healthcare, electronics, transportation, aerospace, chemical and sporting goods industries.
