Event Description: The Marion Heritage Center & Museum will host a program called Bicycles and the History of Hall's Bicycle & Repair Shop, Sunday, October 8 at 1:30 presented Manager Karl A. Moscrip. Edward H. Hall started Halls Bicycle Co. 111 Third Avenue, Cedar Rapids, in 1898. Every local wheelman was familiar with the store and Hall's enterprising methods. Hall's Bicycle was headquarters for bicycles, supplies of all kinds, etc., and the agent for the famous Yale bicycle, a leading high grade machine. Today the owners are the Moscrip family, keeping the historic store name. Mr. Moscrip has a uniquely rich heritage and understanding of cycling and running a "bicycle livery," one that goes back over 120 years. Join us for a wonderful program filled with stories and photos from the family album. This is the first of a series of programs about the current exhibit Good Roads: Bicycles, Motorcycles & Automobiles on the Transcontinental Routes, which runs through April 29, 2018. Admission to the program and the exhibit is free courtesy of a grant from the McIntyre Foundation of Cedar Rapids. Reception and refreshments will be offered after the program.

Directions:
On the corner of 10th Street and 6th Ave.
