The 18th Annual Christmas in the Park celebration, produced by the Marion Chamber of Commerce, will officially kick off the holiday season on December 2 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. in City Square Park , Uptown Marion.

2010 Schedule of Events
Arrival of Santa Claus
5:30 p.m. - Don’t miss the grand arrival of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus by fire truck!
Peace Tree
6:15 p.m. - Officially kick off the festivities with the lighting the Marion Community Peace Tree.
Hot Cocoa and Popcorn
5:30 – 8:00 p.m. - Enjoy hot chocolate and fresh popcorn all evening.
Holiday Music
6:15 – 8:00 p.m. - The Marion Big Band and Touch of Brass bell ringers will serenade everyone with classic holiday tunes.
Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
5:30 – 8:00 p.m. - Create a special memory with your family by taking a horse-drawn carriage ride in Uptown Marion.
Holiday Activities at the Library
5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Marion Public Library - Children can warm up at the Library with holiday story time activities and make-and-take crafts. Gather your holiday wish list and send it to Santa using the special mailbox located in the Library atrium.
Keep Your Neighbors Warm
5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Donate new hats, gloves and blankets to help serve area needy families. Items will be colleted in the Depot and distributed through the Marion Holiday Giving Project.

All Day, The Uptown Marion shopping experience is enhanced by the addition of holiday lights, decorations and music.
