Event Description: Ticket Price: $10-$29 Description: Virginia’s American Shakespeare Center seeks to make the joys of theatre, language, and the communal experience of the Renaissance stage accessible to all. ASC performs Thornton Wilder’s play, Our Town, an irrefutable classic of the American theater. A moving look at life in the small town of Grover’s Corners, Our Town examines what it means to grow up. Through three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage,” and “Death and Eternity,” Thornton Wilder studies the deeply personal yet remarkably universal lives of the Webb and Gibbs families. This poignant American tale explores friendship, love, and death, but most importantly, what it truly means to live. By re-creating Renaissance staging conditions, the ASC brings back the relationship between audiences and actors which were commonplace in Shakespeare’s day. www.americanshakespearecenter.com Free 30-minute special lecture precedes performance at 6:30 p.m. in Babka Theatre. Bisignano Gallery Reception 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. For more information contact the Farber Box Office at 563.585.7469 or visit us at www.dbq.edu/heritagecenter.
