Uptown Marion Market Opens Saturday, June 8

The Uptown Marion Market season is set to begin Saturday, June 8 from 8am-Noon in City Square Park featuring over 50 local vendors with fresh produce, wine, meat, baked goods, artisan items, and food trucks.

Enjoy family fun on June 8 with Papa Balloon, Face Painting by Lindsay, and music with Kevin Moore from 9-11 am. Bikers to the market can park at the Linn County Trails tent and register to win a $25 Uptown Dollars certificate. Then, join the Marion Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) at Noon for Pedal Marion - a casual eight mile bike ride around Marion that will start and end at City Square Park.

Again this year, Uptown Marion Market is an authorized participant in WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). Participants should look for vendors displaying the appropriate signs. The Senior FMNP is sponsored through the US Department of Agriculture and administered through the Heritage Agency on Aging. Qualified seniors can receive $30 worth of checks to use at participating area farmers market vendors per year. On June 8 from 8am-Noon, the Heritage Agency on Aging will be at Uptown Marion Market to distribute checks to qualified seniors. Questions can be directed to Tim Getty at The Heritage Agency, 319-398-7682.

Uptown Marion Market will continue this summer on July 13 and August 10 from 8 am-Noon, and culminate with Fall Marion Market on September 28. View vendor information and market map by visiting marioncc.org or facebook.com/MarionIAChamber.

Uptown Marion Market is sponsored by the Marion Chamber Platinum Community Partners – Farmers State Bank, Fosters Heating and Air Conditioning, ImOn Communications, MercyCare Community Physicians, and TownSquare Media, and is presented by the Marion Chamber of Commerce and Uptown Marion Main Street. This event is also supported in part by the City of Marion Hotel/Motel Grant Program.
