Mayor Nicolas AbouAssaly to Deliver Marion's State of the City

Marion Mayor Nicolas AbouAssaly will review the challenges and triumphs of 2020 and look ahead to 2021 and beyond during the 27th annual Marion State of the City address. His presentation, entitled “The Power of CommUNITY,” will be broadcast digitally on Tuesday, March 30 from noon-1 p.m.

The virtual event is sponsored by League of Women Voters Linn County, in cooperation with the City of Marion, and supported by local businesses. Funds raised by the Marion State of the City event are used to help the League cover the cost of nonpartisan voter-education materials and forums.

There is no cost to attend, however participants are invited to consider making a donation to help the League carry out their mission. Donations to the League of Women Voters Linn County can be submitted online at lwvlinncounty.org/lwvlc-soc-event/ or sent to League of Women Voters, P.O. Box 2422, Cedar Rapids, IA 52406.

The League is pleased to recognize and thank the following community event sponsors, GOLD: Shuttleworth and Ingersoll, MidAmerican Energy, Alliant Energy, Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation and ITC, and SILVER: Lynch Dallas, City of CR Utilities Managers, CR/IC Building Trades & Hawkeye Area Labor Council, HR Green, Collins Aerospace, Simmons, Perrine, Moyer & Bergman and Blue Sky Productions.

A link will be posted at www.cityofmarion.org and www.lwvlinncounty.org leading up to the event. Time will be reserved at the conclusion of the Mayor’s remarks for a Q & A session, hosted by the League of Women Voters.
