We are looking for a dynamic individual for the part-time position of Uptown Marion Main Street & Marketing Support. This person will work directly with the Main Street Director and Chamber staff in planning events, communications, and special projects. Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): August: Plan & Execute Fall Fest with the City of Marion o Action Plan, Budget, Event Communications, Volunteer Coordination, Promotion, Manage Event, Evaluation Sept: Plan & Execute Chocolate Walk with Chamber/Uptown Staff o Assist with event promotions and communications, business participation, create a post-event survey & event report October: Plan & Execute Small Business Saturday with Chamber/Uptown Staff o Assist with event promotions and communications, business participation, create a post-event survey & event report November: Plan & Execute Holiday Events with Chamber/Uptown Staff • Christmas in the Park & Peppermint Walk event assistance • Holiday Shopping/Passport Event • Hallmark Event Throughout: • Assist with marketing and social media campaigns • Business Spotlight & News Articles • VR Walking Tour Updates • Develop Promotions Committee (Volunteers, Meetings, Objectives, Activities) • Alley Stage & Events Information Sheet & Communication Qualifications • AA or BA preferred in a related field • Experience in event planning & marketing • Previous event volunteering experience • Canva/Microsoft/Design Software • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Skills Desired • Outgoing and well spoken • Self-motivated • Creative and detail oriented • Ability to exercise good judgment • Desire to learn and works independently Time Commitment: 8-12hr/week flexible scheduling (not to exceed 15hours per week), hours will be during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm), some nights and weekends required for events, independent contract Questions?
