Short’s Burger & Shine opened it’s third location, and first outside of Iowa City, in Uptown Marion this past October. The restaurant will officially celebrate with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, December 12 at 3:00 p.m. The restaurant is located at 780 11th St, nestled between Uptown Snug and Bistro 3 Nineteen. The historic building has a cozy atmosphere and features exposed brick and hand-crafted seating throughout. Short’s Marion location is known for its signature list of burgers, black bean burgers and chicken sandwiches, as well as a full bar featuring 16 Iowa draft beers and their Short’s Whiskey distilled by Cedar Ridge. Chevy Bushsaw, co-owner, says the Marion location is the culmination of other restaurants in Iowa City which include Short’s Downtown, Short’s Eastside, Stella, and Hudson’s. “When we first saw the space it felt right,” says Bushsaw. “The exposed brick gave it that “Short’s” feel. Uptown Marion has welcomed us with open arms and we’ve enjoyed meeting other business owners and their employees throughout the area.” Short’s weekly specials include $6.99 burgers on Mondays, half-price Cajun on Tuesday and Community night on Wednesdays where 15% of each sale goes to a local organization. “Giving back to the community is the one advantage a local restaurant can have versus a chain. We enjoy being part of the local community, and hopefully having a positive impact on our neighbors and neighborhood,” added Bushsaw. Short’s Burger & Shine is currently open Monday – Saturday from 4 – 10 p.m. For more information and to view their menu visit marion.shortsburger.com .
