The final Uptown Marion Market of the season is Saturday, Sept. 24 from 8 a.m.- Noon in in City Square Park and 7th Avenue in Uptown. This market with a Fall flair will feature 35 local vendors with fresh produce, wine, honey, baked goods, and artisan items. In addition to market vendors, enjoy a full line-up of family fun! The amazing balloon artistry by The Balloon Buffoons, Face Painting by Lindsay, and performances by acoustic artist Ace Jones, and the Heart of Marion Community Choir. The Marion Heritage Center will once again host their Pancake Breakfast at the Depot in City Square Park from 7:30 – 11:30 am. Tickets are $8.00 each and are available in advance at the Heritage Center or day of the event. The Power of Produce (POP) program in partnership with Iowa State University Extension & Outreach – Linn County, will cap off with a special prize for kids who have completed their passport at each market this year. POP Club provides a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations directly with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. The first 30 registered kids at each market receive $3 POP Bucks to shop at participating produce vendors. Produce tasting and other activities will be open to all children while supplies last.
