Robb Wessels began his banking career while earning degrees at Kirkwood Community College. He worked part-time as a teller and continued to work his way through the finance field, earning degrees in Business and Finance from Mount Mercy University and Kirkwood Community College, and generating banking experience through multiple positions. Now, he’s joining the team at Ohnward Bank & Trust as a Vice President in Commercial Banking and Ag/Commercial Relationship Manager. Ohnward Bank & Trust CEO Abram Tubbs said Wessels’s experience is one of many ways that Wessels can help commercial and agriculture customers in the Marion and Cedar Rapids area. “We’re looking forward to seeing how Robb can help our current and future clients grow in their commercial and agriculture businesses,” Tubbs said. “Robb has shown a willingness to go the extra mile in everything he does.” Wessels credits that work ethic with his previous job experience in the manual labor field. “Prior to banking, I held jobs that were primarily manual labor,” Wessels said. “This taught me about hard work and working hard, which assisted in developing my strong work ethic.” Wessels will be located at Ohnward Bank & Trust’s Marion location. When not working, Wessels spends much of his free time at his daughter’s dance competitions or softball games, and fits in hunting and fishing when time allows.
