On Thursday April 25, Winslow House Care Center will celebrate 50 Years in the Marion community with a ribbon cutting scheduled at 3:00 p.m. The anniversary was recognized this past October. Winslow House Care Center is a long-term care and skilled rehabilitation center. They opened their doors at 3456 Indian Creek Road in Marion on October 12, 1973. At the time they cared for 50 residents, had a staff of 30, and sat on 42 acres of land. Many things have changed but their commitment to residents has remained constant. “Our priority is to provide residents with quality of life and care,” said Molly Schulte, Winslow House Administrator. “Over the course of the last half a century, we’ve celebrated birthdays, held Easter egg hunts, Trunk or Treat at Halloween, participated in Alzheimer’s Foundation events, enjoyed Santa, and everything in between.” Today, Winslow House is a non-profit organization that gives back to residents, staff, and families as well as the community and other organizations. They currently sit on 7.5 acres of land that includes a serene, wooded area and walking trail for residents to enjoy. Their staff has grown to 50 allowing the center to increase quality of care. They’ve been home to many centennials, most recently Ila Phillips in March 2023. Last fall, the center saw an interior renovation of flooring and paint schemes.
