The Uptown Marion Market season kicks off on Saturday, June 8 from 8am-Noon on 7th Avenue in Uptown Marion. Over forty local vendors with fresh produce, wine, honey, baked goods, and artisan items, will be featured. Attendees are encouraged to make it a day in Marion by visiting local restaurants and businesses. In addition to market vendors, enjoy a full line-up of family fun! June 8 will feature Face Painting by Lindsay and amazing balloon artistry by The Balloon Buffoons from 9 am - Noon, and performances by the steel drum band Pandelirium. The Power of Produce (POP), in partnership with Linn County Iowa State University Extension & Outreach, will return this year. POP Club provides a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations directly with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. Activities will be open to all children while supplies last. Power of Produce is sponsored by Revive Family Chiropractic. Also in Uptown Marion on June 8, the Heritage Center will host its annual Pancake Breakfast from 7 – 11 am at the West End Diner Pavilion, 809 6th Ave. All you can eat pancakes, eggs, sausage, and drink. Tickets are $10 for adults/students, $20 for families, and $5 for children 12 and under. The Uptown Marion Market will continue July 13, August 10, and September 28 from 8am - Noon.
