The Marion Chamber of Commerce and Uptown Marion Main Street Program are pleased to announce the hiring of Lacey C. Schroeder as its new Program Director. Ms. Schroeder brings a wealth of experience in business development, project management, and community engagement, making her an ideal leader to guide the continued growth and revitalization efforts of the Uptown Marion district. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Upper Iowa University and a B.A. in Art. Her dedication to public service is exemplified by her receipt of the prestigious Congressional National Service Award, which honors individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities. Growing up in rural southeast Iowa, Lacey has always been passionate about community development, a passion she is eager to channel into her new role. "I am absolutely elated to step into the role of Program Director for Uptown Marion," said Ms. Schroeder. "This is an incredible opportunity to collaborate with such a vibrant community, and I am eager to contribute to the growth and revitalization efforts that make Marion a truly special place." In her role as Program Director, Ms. Schroeder will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the economic vitality and cultural vibrancy of Uptown Marion. Her strong background in project management and business development will be instrumental in driving forward key projects that will benefit both residents and businesses alike. “Lacey Schroeder will be an excellent addition to Uptown Marion,” said Marion Chamber President Jill Ackerman. “Lacey has a unique background having owned two small businesses which means she possesses an entrepreneurial spirit that will serve her well as she builds relationships with local business owners. We are excited to welcome her to Team Marion.” Ms. Schroeder will begin on August 21, 2024. She is filling a role vacated by former program director Brooke Prouty who is currently serving as Small Business Specialist with Main Street Iowa.
