Celebrate all things fall at the Fall Into Marion Parade sponsored by Farmers State Bank this Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. The parade will start at the intersection of 1st Avenue and 15th Street. It will travel north on 15th Street and then west on 6th Avenue to 9th Street. Both Marion and Linn-Mar High School marching bands will be featured, along with a variety of nonprofits, businesses and campaigns. There is no parking along the parade route between 5 a.m. and noon on Saturday. Parking is available in several City-owned lots in Uptown Marion and on side streets. The parade is one of several events happening throughout the month of September. The event will feature over 30 breweries sampling their craft in Uptown Marion and traditional German games, like Hammerschlagen and stein holding. (Ticketed event) Theater in the Park sponsored by Mercy Medical Park – Marion and ImOn Communications Saturday, Sept. 21, Klopfenstein Amphitheater at Lowe Park Enjoy a live play outdoors on the amphitheater stage thanks to the talented cast and crew of Giving Tree Theater at 5:30 p.m. This year’s production will feature Winnie the Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner. The event is free to attend. Tailgate in the Park sponsored by Zio Johno’s Saturday, Oct. 5, Klopfenstein Amphitheater at Lowe Park Come root for the Hawkeyes on the BIG screen at this family-friendly tailgate atmosphere at Lowe Park (time TBD). Play classic tailgate games, enjoy kids’ inflatables and activities, compete in a football skills competition, and enjoy tailgate-inspired foods. The event is free and open to the public.
